phd candidate
I am currently interested in plant immunity and its relationship to phytohormone signaling and the cell wall, and the evolution of immune receptors. In my MSc research, I combined chemical inhibitors, protein modeling, and transcriptional analysis to investigate cellulose synthesis.

Rylan vincent
MSC candidate
I am a Master's student in Cell and Systems Biology here at U of T Scarborough, and I joined the lab in 2023 to further develop my skills in plant research. I did my undergrad at the St. George campus where I majored in Cell and Systems Biology as well as Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. I am passionate about plant biology have a broad interest in biology as a whole. My current research involves increasing our understanding of how small RNAs (siRNAs, miRNAs, phasiRNAs) play a role in the genetic reprogramming of plant cells in response to immune stresses. When I'm not in the lab, you can find me in the valley hunting for fossils or pumping iron at Pan Am.
